(July 25, 2025 - Toronto, ON) - ZAS Architects + Interiors is pleased to announce that Del Cordeiro, Principal + Project Manager, has re-joined the Toronto office team this summer. As a member of the firm’s senior management team, Del will also play a significant role on ZAS’s recently formed Business Success Team, driving strategic growth for the firm, now in its 31st year.
“We welcome Del back to the ZAS family.” said Paul Stevens, Owner & Senior Principal, ZAS Architects + Interiors. “His extensive project management experience and client-centred design approach will help us grow our portfolio of innovative Canadian projects that are both beautifully designed, and positively impact communities where people live, work, learn and play.”
Cordeiro is a familiar member of the ZAS team, having worked at the firm for more than 20 years across three decades. He also brings valuable supplier experience from the construction space, offering a 360-degree perspective to support ZAS’ design build process. A certified Project Management Professional (PMP), his solutions-based approach is valuable in realizing the firm’s strategic growth objectives, particularly with his expertise in the educational and healthcare sectors.
“It is wonderful to be back with ZAS,” stated Cordeiro. “This workplace environment has always been welcoming and highly collaborative, inviting staff to be innovative and think outside the box. I’m looking forward to contributing on the leadership team to advance our business goals, corporate culture and client relationships.”
Cordeiro was an integral part of the ZAS project team that built the award-winning Vaughan Civic Centre Resource Library in 2016. This innovative 36,000 square foot, two-floor building and marketplace also includes book retail, café, study areas, digital media lab, music recording studio and administrative offices. The architecture of the centralized library is transparent, with views of the internal courtyard, civic square and city park. Cordeiro steered the project team through the entire design-build process. He also worked on the Curtiss and Vickers dining facilities at CFB Borden, an award-winning LEED Silver project that was completed in 2015. With floor to ceiling curtain walls, arched wooden beams and columns resembling pine forests, the facilities aim to provide our country’s Military Service Personnel and staff with a comfortable, peaceful environment for meals, and a respite from otherwise grueling schedules. Cordeiro worked with the design-build team to manage the project which focused on the strategy of providing a pleasant, efficient and enduring building with plenty of natural light and optimized interior traffic flows, and state-of-the-art, ultra-high efficiency kitchen.
